meditative weightlifting

power snatch
5 x 4
(25-27-29-31-33kg)

back squat
4 x 3
(60-65-70-72kg)

snatch
5 x 3
(25-27-29-29-30kg)

snatch push press x 5 / overhead squat x 5
repeat x 4
(25-29-32-34kg)

felt strong, pretty sturdy, and definitely focused. despite having a lot on my mind, there was only a single moment in that hour and a half where my focus went elsewhere. even then, it was only for a split second. that’s one of the reasons why i love weightlifting. you can’t afford to let your mind wander, otherwise you put your technique and safety at risk. the immense amount of concentration required is so intense, it’s mentally freeing at the same time.

some people meditate, some people lift weights.
