progress at waxmansit’s been about three months or so since i’ve started weightlifting  under sean waxman’s supervision. today was the first time i didn’t snatch or  clean from the boxes, which is great news. i’m much more comfortable  with the snatch, and i’ve become more consistent over time. at my  current level, any additional work from the boxes is likely to yield  diminishing returns. it’s time to start throwing around heavier weight. it is then that your allowable margin of error shrinks to near nothing and technique becomes more critical than ever. i’ve just recently begun working on the split jerk, getting the footwork  and body position down. there’s still a ways to go in strengthening my  torso, so until then, i probably won’t be cleaning and jerking  challenging weight, but i’m definitely looking forward to the day that i do.
